Conference room equipment has gotten much more complicated than in years past, when an easel and a whiteboard were all the necessary equipment. Easels and poster boards have now been replaced by the digital projector, which can project the contents of the connected computer onto a screen or a wall. Even the whiteboard has the capacity for high technology. The long range mouse has been around since the 1980s--although, back then, the range was only a couple of feet further than with a corded mouse. Modern long range mice can operate from across a room, which makes them very handy for use in presentations. There are even mice that do not require their being on a flat surface in order to operate. These mice usually operate with radio waves and are capable of interpreting gestures which correspond to certain commands.Most older mice operated with a ball that rolled along the surface of a mousepad and translated the motion into motion for the on-screen cursor. E-training is a reflection of the modern climate in the corporate world. More is being done with fewer people and the slack is being picked up by technology. Training new employees was never the favorite job of management but it was a necessary evil if they wanted people to do things the way the company wanted them done. Now, though, technology allows for extensive training with fewer people needed to do the training.Large corporations can send trainees through a cycle of video introductions and PowerPoint presentations to get them up to speed and familiarize them with the corporate environment. It is almost entirely possible to train a new employee without having to dedicate any human resources to the task.
